In Terlano, the wine-making tradition dates back more than 2000 years. Mild microclimatic conditions give the wines certain unique characteristics, thus adding a special flavor to them. Terlano's unique position at the foot of Mount Tschöggel is a key to the development of the vineyards. The southfacing slopes are ideal for grape growing. The porphyry rocks accumulate warmth and the porous soil allows the water to drain, keeping the soil dry around the roots of the wines. The Cooperative of Terlano was founded in 1893. Today it has over 100 associates trained and specialized in natural viticulture. Together they keep the rich tradition with important innovative elements alive. The fruits of this accurated process are aged in modern cellars under strictly controlled conditions.
Terlano Vineyards is particularly renowned for its white wines, which are fruity, with big body, full complexity and longevity. Remarkable heights are reached by the gaious Pinot Blanc and the wonderfully aromatic Sauvignon Blanc, followed by the harmonious and refined Chardonnay and Cuvée e Terlano. Our reds also show substance and character. As the autoctonous wines Schiava and Lagrein or the varieties Pinot Noir and Merlot, which have been grown in Alto Adige for over one hundred years. Each bottle is the product of the exacting standards of our winemaker, Rudi Kofler, who has a long experience in the production of authentic and traditional wines.
