Trodena nel parco naturale (Truden im Naturpark in German) is a small town in the province of Bolzano, set in the wonderful untouched nature of Monte Corno Nature Park, composed by lush forests, mountain huts, paths, alpine lakes and meadows. It is sure the ideal destination for trekking and hiking lovers; moreover it is located not too far from the Passo Oclini and Val di Fiemme skiing areas and the complex of Dolomites superski.
The place name is documented for the first time in 1122 as "Trodene", when German people became to settle in the area.
Attractions:
- the Church of San Biagio, in late-gothic style, although its origins are earlier (XII century);
- the ancient lime tree in the main square oof the town, planted 600 years ago;
- the remains of the trences of the war period.
