Renon

Description

Located on the plateau with the same name, bordered to the East by Val d'Isarco and to the West by Val Sarentino, Renon (Ritten in German) is a municipality in the province of Bolzano, divided in 17 districts. The plateau of Renon, mentioned for the first time in 900 A.D., with the name Ritanus as Mons, in the XVII century became the prime holiday resort of the aristocracy of Bolzano, enchanted by its geographic exposure, completely free on all sides but at the same time, protected from winds at the foot of the massif Corno of Renon.
Inhabited since ancient times, in the Middle Ages it became the obligatory passage point for connections between Italy and Germany, along the Brenner trail.
The beautiful natural landscapes, forests and mountain trails provide the ideal opportunities for trekking and mountain bike lovers.
