Sant'Omobono Terme

Description

Municipality of the Imagna Valley, near Bergamo, Sant'Omobono Terme was originally known as Sant'Omobono Imagna until 2004. The village has medieval origins and was the scene of bloody struggles between the Guelphs and the Ghibellines. It passed under the control of the Republic of Venice in the XVIII century and developed to become a popular spa resort, thanks to the beneficial properties of its sulphurous waters.

Not to miss:
- the XVIII century Parish of Sant'Omobono, in the district of Mazzoleni
- the Parish Church of San Bernardino, in the village of Cepino, built between the XVI and the XVII centuries;
- the Parish of St. James, in the district of Selino Alto, built in Neoclassical style;
- the Church of the Immaculate Conception, in the district of Selino Basso, dating to the XX century;
- the Sanctuary of Cornabusa, built in the rock in the XVI century.
