An hyper technological cellar placed at the centre of vineyards, shows the project of this estate.
The structure made by laminated wood is the best example of modern technology that doesn't forget tradition, recalled by the barriques wood typical of wine history.
A great consignment holds the recent and high technological fleet of farm cars, that is used for all the modern manufactures and is well integrated with insiders' skills. The surface covered is of about 3.600 sqm.
Unique is the rustic housing part that, divided in two floors, covers about 1.000 sqm surrounded by a 20.000 sqm park. Direct access from Aurelia street.
This big villa in "maremmano" style, will be at disposal for long stays, also for representation, thanks to dry and healthy microclimate and the near sea.
Fertuna represents the concept of winery, coming from nothing, not from previous systems, but from the instinctive perception that it was the ideal place for realizing in Maremma, a new challenge, a maturity project.
It's in the heart of Maremma Toscana, the land which lies along the sea between Toscana and Lazio, among green hills of wild nature that create endless light spaces towards the Tyrrhenian Sea.
This place is simple and isolated. The key note is represented by nature, by spontaneous vegetation on which the human hand acted without abuse of power by designing an amphitheatre of vineyards.
Once, this area was a cradle of Etruscan and then roman culture, with the presence of many necropolis. This proves that, for centuries it has been known as an ideal place for living, working the ground and improving thanks to the territorial positioning richness.
Fertuna overlooks for about 1 km along the "Antica Via Aurelia" course, traced by Romans, since the III century b.c., a work which allowed Rom to bring and consolidate its governance.
In the neighbourhood, at about 5 km there is the Golf Club Punta Ala, an 18 holes system which is immersed in the typical Tuscan country among olive tree groves and vineyards.
Golf, international-wide renewed, allows to practise this sport in a unique context among nature colours: the blue of the sea and the green of the pine-wood.Golfo di Follonica, Castiglione della Pescaia, Punta Ala and a little more distant the Argentario, complete a dream context.
The name is fantastic and recalls the almost rarefied atmosphere. We can perceive the sense of a suspended place in the time and in the space, with a magical feeling.
This aura of mystery suggested the name Fertuna that, with its elements, reveals itself as an holder of concrete messages close to reality: first of all the consonance with the word "fortuna", which sounds like a good wish, even if its ancient etymological meaning refers to the favorable configuration of a place. Secondly, the theme fert, from Latin fertus, means fertile.
About 50 hectares are used for the production of a variety of specific grapes in order to obtain high quality wines. This surface could be enlarged for further 50 hectares.
All vineyards are endowed with a drop by drop irrigation system, nourished by a big artificial lake of about 15.000 sqm, that collects its waters from local sources. One part of this company is dedicated to olive culture: about 5,5 hectares of great age olive trees.
