Description

The Iannella Cellar, was founded in 1920 by the head of the family Giovanni Iannella, it has initially had a production limited to only 50 ql of wine. Wines produced were Aglianico (which has made famous this small village Samnite, after the DOC recognition) and Coda di volpe. The nineties mark an important turning point, because they allows the cellar, led by the passion of Antonio Iannella, (the founder's grandson) of doing an important qualitative leap, in terms of both quantity and quality. Alongside the Aglianico, we have the excellent Falanghina followed by other varieties of wines..........

The increasing in the demand leads Antonio to extend the "small cellar" in a wide and modern factory with machinery in the van and to propose, some of those wines, which until now had been sold in bulk, in elegant bottles.

Keeping on the activity, in 1955,was Nicola Iannella (the founder's son of the winery ) which has enlarged the premises , increasing the production capacity and favouring more and more the doc quality. In 1992 Antonio Iannella (the founder's grandson)was called to manage the firm; he was the man that with passion and love absolute devoted himself to the wine production as when he was a boy near his father Nicola, between grapes and barrels, trying to learn the secrets of the master of wine . In 2000 the great leap, the raise in the demands and requests from all over the world, have lead to expand the cellar as well as diversify and increase the production of wines of its vineyards and of the Torrecuso territory, where a mild climate and a landscape made of hills caracterized by lands of specific peculiarities have made grown the finest vineyards.

The most prestigious label of the winery is the "Don Nicola" the reserve of Aglianico Taburno Doc, then there's the "Niè" IGT Campania, a white wine obtained by the three more extraordinary varieties that the Campania region can boast: Fiano, Greco and Falanghina, followed by the Aglianico and Falanghina Taburno Doc, the Rosato of Aglianico TaburnoDoc, Piedirosso Sannio Doc, a soft wine by strong spicy notes, and completing the group of favourite wines on the market there is "Incigno" a cheerful Novello Igt Beneventano, a young and fresh wine. In short term they will be put in production other three products to enrich further the production.

Torrecuso.

It is said that the country has been founded by an etruscan who running away from his land, found in Torrecuso a pleasant and fertile territory made verdant by grapevines and olive trees. Subsequently, in the longobard period, Torrecuso was, surely, a center of great strategic importance to the feet of the Pentime mountain. In remote ages the country was situated near the "Heat" river, in proximity of the ancient bridge "Fenucchio", to the feet of the present inhabited center, that has preserved, in its historic center, the urbanistic longobard plant.

The uncontaminated landscapes where the green of the crops and the meekness of the climate together with the vestigias of Bridge Fenucchio, to the restored building Cito, to the narrow roads of the historic center and to the "contradas", make of Torrecuso a spellbound country where history and traditions, genuineness and courtesy, gourmet cuisine and territory, turn the country into the ideal destination of whom looks for the quality of the life in the simplicity of the daily way of living and in the quiet flowing of the time.
