The place name derives from a small chapel dedicated to St. Alfonso Maria de' Liguori: the Redemptorist Fathers, in fact, in the second half of the XIX century, used the house as a convent and decided to stay here, searching peace and silence.
There are many and well-preserved aspects of the rural life of this ancient country house: the chestnut wood portals, the remains of frescoes in the dining room, the furnace, the tank in the laundry and the beautiful majolica tiles framed in modern terracotta floors.
