Postal (Burgstall in German) is a small and nice town in the province of Bolzano, located just 8Km from Merano, along the Adige Valley.
The place name, documented for the first time in the XIII century, refers to a fortified castle, of which only few ruins are still visible today.
It is a quiet and sunny place, ideal starting point to reach Verano Tschögglberg by the cable car: the lovers of hiking, trekking and mountain bike wiil find here an untouched nature rich in suggestive corners.
The economy is agricultural; here the only one Museum of Wilslife in South Tyrol can be visit.
Also interesting is the prehistoric settlement dating from 400 BC and used for many centuries, until it was destroyed by a disastrous fire in the first half of the I century; the ruins of a house, barns and stables are in good conditions.
