Giugliano in Campania
Description
Giugliano in Campania is located in the Phlegrean area; inhabited by Italic population, then it was conquered by the Romans, as many Archaeological relics document. Its name probably derives from a villa belonged to Julius Caesar; subsequently he built a little village called Iulianum.
The historic centre presents the village as it was in the XVII century and the beginning of the eighteenth century: narrow streets, alleys paved with grey basalt and shrines sheltered on buildings to create a picturesque atmosphere.
