Basiglio

Description

Town in the province of Milan, located on the Southern outskirts of Milan, Basiglio - the ancient Basilio - was already in the Middle Ages under the jurisdiction of the Parish of Decimo. The territory is significantly mentioned in documents in 1307, referring to possessions of the rectory of St. George in Milan, and in 1484 for the grant of the fief to the family Birago, to whom succeeded the Families of Molinari and of Folch de Cardona.

Not to miss:
- The XIV century Parish Church of St. Agatha with a Baroque restyling;
- The Church of San Bernardo, built in the XVII century, with its nearby ruins of an arch and a tower of the Romanesque period.
