Description

We believe in a longlasting demand for high quality wine and first class olive oil. We are convinced that it becomes more and more important to establish a direct relationship between discerning customers and producers, based on credibility, authenticity and confidence. For these reasons we started to build up the Tordimaro winery in 1998 with the distinct idea to contribute to the development of Umbria's wine culture.

Our wine making concept to produce wines of unique personality, showing the typical aromas and terroir notes, is based on the work in the vineyards. Maintaining ecological balance and selecting rigorously the best grapes by drastically reducing the yield are the key objectives.

Innovation and state of the art technology allow in the cellar, what nature produces: A full variety of aromas, reflecting the specific conditions of every year and of the terroir.

The olives are selected by hand and processed at low temperatures. Our freshly pressed oil (Spremuta) is marketed immediately and available from mid November until Christmas: Its richness and color is past all description, one has to try it!

Our clarified olio extra vergine, available from April throughout the year is an indispensable ingredient in Italian and all other savoury cuisine.

Our agriturismo facilities as well as our 'open doors' allow a direct contact with our guests, with wine connoisseurs and consumers.

We are looking forward to welcome you.

Our Orvieto Classico is based on the autoctonous Grechetto, a grape variety, which is rarely grown outside of Umbria. The major partners for the final blend are Procanico and Verdello. Thus we offer a typical "Orvieto", based on the native grape varieties. It is a full bodied, well structered wine, reflecting our terroir.

Cabernet and Sangiovese, obtained from the respective grape varieties, are selected from the best vineyard sites and are aged in oak barrels. The yield is as low as 500 to 600 g/m2 and special attention is paid to a harmonious and balanced growth of the vines and the grapes. Two truly exclusive wines for important occasions.

Our Torrello is characterized on the one hand by the Sangiovese grape, the most important red variety in our region, and on the other hand by the Barbera grape, which in Umbria gives unique and extraordinary results, especially if the crop is strictly limited. A juicy, fruity wine, often enjoyed already one year after the vintage, but it maintains well during three to four years.
