Welcome to Tempa Bianca Agritourism. We are located in the territory of Matera, in a prestigious country residence that dates back to the XVIII century.
Tempa Bianca is a prime example of an enhanced agritourism model, perfected for a more demanding clientele :
-close to Matera, city of the Sassi, Unesco World Heritage Property;
-offers a renowned Restaurant, where it is possible to taste the best local dishes;
-part of a vast pine forrest, near the man-made Lake of San Giuliano, WWF refuge;
-a grain-producing agricultural company;
-well-known for its sport horse breeding;
-located in Basilicata, a spectacular region in Southern Italy noted for its moderate climate throughout all seasons; its artistic, historic, archeological and enogastronomic treasures; its pleasant life.
All the traits of Tempa Bianca lead to the development of an excellent rapport with our clients and friends who return often to spend some restorative vacation time or weekends during the summer holidays. In the aristocratic chapel, the agritourism safeguards a precious statue of San Vito in variegated rock, dating from the early 1600s.
Our establishment has 20 sleeping posts contained in 8 rooms furnished in Arte Povera style, all with private bath, shower, TV, heat, air conditioning and private veranda. One of the rooms offers all comforts needed for disabled guests.
The peaceful silence of the rural habitat mingles with the perfume of the flora and the sounds of beautiful, uncontaminated nature. Your vacation will be so full of perceptive stimuli that you will not be able to wait until you can come back again. From the moment you enter our agritourism, time slows down and you and your loved ones can finally enjoy a break full of relaxation.
Our restaurant offers renowned dishes, typical of the local cuisine, that are skillfully revisited, along with a wide selection of traditional Lucanian wines. The restaurant is open every day by reservation only, made at least 24 hours in advance. In cases where less advance notice is possible, we suggest you contact us to check availability.
Sunday luncheon in particular offers the highly-regarded tasting of a typical regional menu at a fixed price. In this case, it is also necessary to make reservations at least one day in advance.
The large dining room is also ideal for celebration banquets and ceremonies in familiar and welcoming surroundings.
Tempa Bianca is only 10 kilometers from Matera, and is 3 kilometers from the newest main road in Basilicata, SS Bradanica, easily reached from the west by highway A16 Napoli-Bari which joins the Naples bypass and highway A30 Caserta-Salerno, little more than 2 hours from us; and from the east by highway A24 Bologna-Taranto, at the Foggia tollbooth, about 90 minutes from Tempa Bianca.
