Country House Palazzone was built in medieval times and is located not far from Rocca Ripesena in the area northwest of Orvieto, in Umbria. This building is an exceptional example of a country residence: it possesses all the characteristics of a town palazzo, even though it stands alone at the top of a hill in the open countryside.Its architectural structure and construction elements, as well as its ornamental details, can indeed be seen in the most important civic buildings in the town of Orvieto from the late 1200s - such as the Palazzo del Popolo and the Papal Palace - all of which allow us to specify the type and date the building, placing it alongside those similar palaces built in town in the last quarter of the 13th century.

We take great care to give you with the warmest welcome at the country house Locanda Palazzone and to offer you a fulfilling and relaxing stay, in keeping with the old tradition of hospitality that Palazzone was destined to provide since the time of its inception. The elegant and comfortable suites were created respecting the original Palazzone architectural structure, and are furnished with all the comforts and conveniences needed to make your stay exclusive and unforgettable. Every suite has heating and air-conditioning, satellite TV, radio, direct-dial telephone, fast Internet connection, a small safety-deposit box, minibar and electric kettle for brewing your favorite tea or tisane.
Cribs or small beds with side railings for children are available based on the combinations offered by the suites and upon request made at the time of booking.

The country house Locanda Palazzone staff will straighten and change the linen every morning. Breakfast is served in the garden, with natural products prepared in our kitchen. The season, the place, the wines give all their meaning to the dishes we want you to taste. You will be welcomed by the colors of the sunset in a simple and refined atmosphere. The lovely view onto the vines and the city of Orvieto becomes the most peacefull and refined setting for our summer ‘dining room'. The Enoteca is used for our wine degustations during the day. At night it changes style and hosts the evening dinner for the Locanda's guests when the weather does not allow us to enjoy the terrace. Dinner is served only by reservation, on the terrace or in the Enoteca. During the summer months we offer a buffet lunch for guests who wish to spend the day by the pool.

For relaxing, the swimming pool is open from May to October. The pool can be used freely, and changing rooms and showers are always at your disposal.

There are countless nature routes winding through the area, starting with the "Path through the Woods." We will provide information on the best places to go for horseback riding, tennis, golf, and bicycle excursions. We often organize events at Palazzone, as well as guided tours to see the art and nature treasures of Umbria.

By its irresistible beauty and limitless potential it persuaded us that Orvieto was a challenge that could be won, a challenge to realise the full potential offered by site and climate, even when that meant trying new methods and rejecting established ones. We love the idea that the profile of a white wine from central Italy might stand out - graceful yet incisive, Mediterranean and at the same time with a closed structure. We are proud to be able to make a white wine that can be relied upon but where you can taste the difference from vintage to vintage, and we are pleased to offer wines that can be bought at a reasonable price.
