The peaceful countryside setting of the Podere San Michele, its warm family atmosphere and only a limited number of guests, make it the perfect place for a holiday.
Salty sea air and the heady perfume of the land come together in this location in a fresh air explosion that is as lively and refreshing as the enthusiasm of all those involved in this expanding business.
Ensuring that all our guests are happy with every aspect of their stay is our primary goal, which means all of us are here to help you make your holiday dreams a reality.

The Podere San Michele is in the Caduta district of San Vincenzo in the maremmana countryside.
As part of the Biserno Farm, owned by the Romanof-Gherardesca family until 1956 when they sold off part of the estate, the Podere San Michele became the property of the Socci family and they continued to cultivate the land as it had always been cultivated despite the relatively small yields.
In 1994 however, the involvement of the younger generation of Socci's, with their passion for wine, finally started to gain some success and recognition for the wine that had, until then, only been sold straight from the barrel.
In 2000, the women of the family took charge: Tiziana, assisted by brother George takes care of the practical details of producing wine, whilst Marina is responsible for the administration and outside contacts.
In the last few years, thanks to a change in direction, not to mention a few brave choices about the type of grapes to plant and cultivation methods to use, the company is now producing top quality wine from the new vineyards as well as the old ones that have been revitalized.
Well-known winemaker, Luca D'Attona is a valued member of the team. He started his career following traditional methods and ideas, then moved on to more innovative, experimental techniques and is now an expert and devotee of bio-dynamic methods such as those currently used in some of the Podere di San Michele's vineyards.
Every Sunday afternoon, the Podere San Michele, opens the doors of its cellars and offers visitors guide visits and wine-tasting. Choose to sample between one and three wines accompanied by tasty nibbles or snacks (must be booked).
We produce six wines in all, four red and two white. If you know and enjoy our wines, you can order them from home by sending us an email and we will contact you to make the arrangements.
