Description

The Azienda Agricola La Mancina covers 40 hectares - i.e. 100 acres - on Montebudello's sunny hills, at around 200 metres above sea level, in the south-west of the province of Bologna, in the heart of the "Colli Bolognesi D.O.C. wines" area. It was established in the early 60's by the Zanetti family, which still own the estate today. Its fame has been continuously increasing becoming one of the most important and appreciated in the area. The local white grape called Pignoletto comprises just over half of the total production, the remainder comprising reds of Barbera, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Vineyards are located on hilly soils rich in clay, which is ideal for quality wines, and are carefully grown by natural methods. Grapes are hand-picked in September. All steps of winemaking, ageing and bottling, in fact, the whole production of about 120.000 bottles per year is performed in the winery located within the farm.
