Description

Coming back in his Landto dedicate himself to the production of a top rank wine was the dream accompanying Gaetano Lamaletto while he left Abruzzo looking for wealth in Venezuela. Years later, as a well-known businessman, Gaetano creates on the hills near mount Maiella his company. IL FEUDUCCIO DI S. MARIA D'ORNI.

A family living on tradition and innovation: Gaetano Lamaletto, his wife Maria, their daughter Laura (mother of four) with her husband Paolo create a new project: Il Feuduccio di Santa Maria d'Orni.

"Il Feuduccio di Santa Maria d'Orni" lies in Orsogna (Chieti) and is located in one of the most beautiful and intact landscape imaginable, in a show of hills that give birth to this enchanting landscape between Maiella and Adriatic Sea.

The cellar is totally carved in the rock and digs deep through five levels, each one is 1500 meters large. The heart of the work, high vinification, cellar and ageing bottle room lie 14 metres under the vineyard. The three access tunnels are trimmered by local sandstone, covered by hand made bricks. Two levels above the cellar there's the Tasting Room.

Pruning, thinning, grapes selection and other fine checkings are the key for producing top quality grapes.

For Gaetano "Il Feuduccio" wants to be a homage to his land, to the future generations. the only soil where he finds the flavour of his people.

Under the shadows of the vineyards our tought lives serene, the scent and the flavour of the fruit of the soil can become ethernal when our memory keeps their valour; in our family every instant of life has its valour and colour and when I look for the origin of our serenity I end my search always among the rows of my vineyards with the leaves that, moved by the wind, greet as to call out for the hands of the harvesters.

The good wine brews among these paths full of life where the farmers songs can be heard as the scissors cut the best grapes off the vineyards.

The women lay the net while the men lean the stairs to the branches and hang the baskets created by skilled hands. The air is clear and bracing; the flavour of the new oil is all around.

The scents really warm up entering the cellar. In this almost mystical place with soft lights, excellent humidity and a careful air exchange the wines exalt themselves, some in french oak barrels, some in new new french barriques.

In a delicate and maternal hug flavours, scents and fragrances bloom just to be told by every bottle under the sparkling daylights.

It is the place where we find our balance.

Heaven in Abruzzo has a name.

It is above, it stretches itself through vineyards and olive groves and has a free vegetation that arrives to the foot of mount Maiella before loosing in the horizon of the Adriatic sea.

The place is Orsogna, the name is Il Feuduccio.

The estate Il Feuduccio di S. Maria d'Orni is located near Orsogna, 450 meters above sea level, totally exposed to the south, in a zone full of hill of ancient wine-making tradition that extends itself from the foot of the Maiella to the Adriatic sea. The excellent microclimate and the peculiar composition of the soil fill the grapes of flavour and scent that w will find in every bottle, glass by glass.

High quality vineyards, red as the Montepulciano d'Abruzzo and white as Trebbiano d'Abruzzo and Pecorino, indigenous wines that we rediscover with their organoleptic features just as the Sauvignon, the Falanghina.
