Description

The vineyard is situated on a hill near Monteprandone, in the southern part of the Marche, just on the border with Abruzzo.

From the garden of the winery the view opens on hills and valleys with villages here and there, surrounded by the blue of the Adriatic sea to one side and the snow covered tops of the Appennini mountains to the other. In this area cultivation is varied: meadows, corn fields, olive groves, vineyard distributed in small plots of land. The region Marche is still not very well known and it hides great landscape treasures, cultural and traditional wealth to reveal to the world. The Marche extends along the shores of the Adriatic sea. Stone beaches alternate with golden sandy beaches with a background of green hills and mountain tops: a scenery of mediaeval villagrs, and naturally of numerous vineyards.

The farm is situated 4 Km inland from the Adriatic coast at an altitude of 150/200 m above the sea level. The estate has a large underground wine cellar for the aging of wines and a pleasant receiving room for the tasting of our own products. The 22 hectares of surrounding vineyards, made up of old and recent plants, are entirely exposed south/western. The grapevines are predominantly raised with system vertical trellis bilateral guyot and spur pruned cord, at a distance of 60/80/100 cm one from the other, on sandstone, clay calcareous soil. The yield of the vineyards is limited to 60 and 90 quintals per hectare through thinning and selective vintage. The grapes reach perfect ripeness thanks to the climate of the underlying valley: cool in the vegetative season and influenced by the Scirocco and by the brezze of the nearby Adriatic sea. Our wines accompany splendidly the rich and genuine Mediterranean cooking.

Starters and delicate seafood are pleasantly combine with Aurato, white meat and important fish dises with Navicchio. Donello can accompany tasty roasts while Marinus and Zipolo can be ideally combined with red meat and game
