Extending over two viticultural sites - the DOC (Controlled Denomination of Origin) areas of "Collio" and "Isonzo del Friuli" - the Firm Casa Zuliani is located in one of the traditional vineyards of Italy, where grape vines have been grown long before the Roman domination.
The region is well-known for its natural characteristics and its kind climate. Noble grapes are there produced: from them come prestigious wines appreciated all over the world.
Founded by Zuliano Zuliani in 1923, and manged today by his heirs, the firm typifies beautifully this generous land. High is the quality of its Wines: words cannot describe their unforgettable taste and outstanding qualities.
The careful selection of clones - done with the collaboration of the most important cultivators of Friuli - and the choice of the most suitable lands give life to an amount of 100.000 bottles per year. These are mainly marketed in Europe, North America, and the Far East.
Casa Zuliani appeared with a new image in 2000: it underlines the international markets of the firm and the high standard of its products - both for their reliability and organolectic characteristics.
The estate is about 25 hectares in area and is composed of two main parts - called "La Rosetta" and "La Locatella" since the ancient times.
The vineyards were radically trasformed in 1976; from then on they have been costantly improved and occupy today 20 hectares.
Grapewines have been densely planted - no less than 5.000 plants per hectare - with a very low yield (0,8-1,2 kg of the grape each). They flourish in the sunshine and are trimmed by hand, with passion.
Harvesting comes between the beginning of September and the middle of October; the precise date is determined on the basis of testing.
Grapes are picked by hand at Casa Zuliani, so as to gather both their fragrance and true essence - full of promise Wines will realise.
Casa Zuliani's white Wines are bottled in the spring following the harvest; they are preserved in stainless steel tanks.
A great part of the red Wines, instead, are subjected to a process of fining involving a stay in oak casks: these come from Slavonia for the 500 litre Tonneau and from France or North America for the 225 litre barrique.
Zuliani's Wines are produced only from grapes harvested exclusively from vineyards of the firm's estate.
