Nocera Superiore is a nice and small town, located near Nocera Inferiore, at the mouth of the Sannio Valley and at the slopes of St. Angelo Mount. The very heart of the ancient town, Nuceria Alfaterna, preserves numerous archaeological finds an monuments, including the theatre, buttressed against the boundary walls, the necropolises and the monumental tombs.
The Church of Santa Maria Maggiore, with three apses and circular plan in order to support the central dome, re-built after the eruption of the Vesuvius in 1944.
