Forio d'Ischia

Description

Forio d'Ischia, located in the western part of the Island, offers a unique environment: romantic sunsets, sea, sun and beaches! Set at the foot of Mount Epomeo and less visited by the mass tourism, holds on to its strong tradition of fisherman's village. The renowned beach of Citara is one of the most beautiful on the island: rich in thermal springs, takes its name from the goddess Venus. Very charming is the historic center of Forio d'Ischia, with its patrician palaces, narrow streets, local painters' art galleries and ceramic workshops. On a rocky outcrop the Santa Maria del Soccorso stands out, with its traditional of local architecture intact.
