Description

Today, and since five vintages, there is only one nephew left from Ezio Scienza, Filippo Scienza, the son of Renato. He studied at the Istituto Agrario of San Michele all'Adige, at the Centre de Formation Professionelle et de Promotion Agricole de Beaune in Bourgogne and at the School of Agriculture, Purdue University California. His knowledge and his practise at the Vallarom's family "maso", but also in Italian and foreign wine-cellars, togeher with his extraordinary capacity of following the rythms of the countryside, his passion and, why not, his eccentricity, the extraordinary soil and the right microclimate, have brought him to great results with very drinkable wines full of character and personality at an excellent price.

There are eight wines coming out from from Filippo's wineyard and cellar, all recognisable for their character and simplicity which mirrors the personality of the producer.

The most representative wine is undoubtely the CAMPI SARNI ROSSO, a classic bordeaux blend (Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot), prized many times with the highest score by A.I.S. together with Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Then there is pure CABERNET SAUVIGNON with his imposing character, pure MERLOT which will be released in 2005 and the vivaciuos VADUM CAESARIS, a blend of Savignon Blanc, Riesling, Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc; the rare and unique SYRAH, originary from Persia and finally, being the wineyard in Vallagarina, they couldn't do without the MARZEMINO, a very seducing wine and the MOSCATO GIALLO, made without its high concentration of sugar.

" I don't want to bore anybody and I don't want to praise my wines because if they deserve any merit it shouldn't come from me. I only say, just come to the wineyard when you wish, I will be pleased. I live there, upstairs the cellar among the vines, with my wife Barbara and my son Riccardo. So, by tasting the wines together we could - and especially you - can tell me your opinion. In this way I can appreciate if my interpretation of making wine only with grapes and simplicity is equally shared by you".
