Description

The Mazzi farm has been in the family since the early 1900s and lies on the hills of Negrar, one of the five towns in the area of the classic Valpolicella. In the 60s, after finishing his agricultural studies, Roberto Mazzi started to bottle wine under the name of Sanperetto, already subdividing the production after the name of the vines. The vineyards are located in an excellent position on the hills of Calcolare, Castel, Poiega, Sanperetto and Villa. The farm is now run personally by the sons Stefano and Antonio who combine tradition with innovation to produce Valpolicella Classico Superiore, Amarone and Recioto della Valpolicella Classico.

The farm house from the 1800s, with adjacent mill from 1600 and the wine cellar with vaulted ceiling from 1700 for maturing our wines, has been completely renovated for living in and for giving hospitality, in a romantic place which still holds intact the memories of the past.
Our family wants to offer our guests something that seems to have been lost. Traditional Veronese cuisine, in particular from Valpolicella, flavoured with our extra virgin oil and accompanied by our wine and vegetables. The different dishes are matched to our DOC wines from the famous area of Valpolicella. Traditional bread and cakes all home-made.

The spacious dining room with it's rustic décor is very welcoming. The wooden beams, open fire and lovely stone work make it the ideal place to enjoy our delicious dishes in the tradition of Valpolicella, accompanied by our wines.

A water mill where the wheel has small tubs to lift the water. It has been in our family since 1600 and has recently been restored to remember the work and traditions of the past.

The proprietors receive their guests in the courtyard, after which the visits to the mill begin with a short description of the different phases of production. The visit continues in the fascinating maturing cellar, where Antonio will give a talk, also in English and German, about Valpolicella and the wines produced on the farm.
At the end of the visit you can taste the wines and try a typical snack of salami and cheeses in the lounge or have a characteristic lunch or dinner.
In the wine shop you can buy our wine, amarone grappa, oil and honey.
