Description

Circa 30%, (about 33 hectares) of the entire vineyard hill area used for the production of GATTINARA DOCG belongs to Azienda Vitivinicola Nervi; the property includes splendid vineyards, most of them in the famous "Molsino" area.

The Winery, founded in the early 1900s by Luigi Nervi, was acquired in 1991 by the Sitindustrie Group, important multinational holding company with seat in Valduggia (VC); it is currently the most important centre for the production and marketing of Gattinara wine.

The ancient wine cellars and the building from the last century that belong to Azienda Vitivinicola Nervi are located in the Town of Gattinara.

This facility represents the heart of the productive and selective process of the wines, the point of arrival of a long and

Product card disciplinary rules perfectionist oriented work. Here the grapes are vinified and aged for a minimum period of three years in Slavonian oak casks. The production and commercial results are obtained through a unique quality with a range of products highly selected in the continuous search of the right balance between innovation and tradition.

Activity, capability and experience of Nervi's vine-dressers, cellarmen, oenologists and employees of Nervi brought the company to the most important national and international rewards with great commercial satisfaction. Among the national rewards we can mention:

"Vini d'Italia 2000-Gambero Rosso Editore", I vini di Veronelli- Guida Oro 2000; Guida Critica & Golosa di Paolo Massobrio,... and among the international: Wine Enthusiast buying guide, International Wine Cellar, Alles Uber Wein, Marmitte - Journal der Koch - und Weinkultur,....

At the beginning of 2005 Nervi joined its entrepreneurial competence and ability in the world of the wine with the ones of Malgrà, a young and innovative wine company based in Monferrato, creating a new subject, Tenute & Case Vinicole Italiane. This new established Group holds more than 150 hectars of vineyards and can offer the complete range or the most prestigious Piedmontese wines: Gattinara, Barolo, Barbaresco, Dolcetto, Grignolino and Gavi.
