The Azienda Agricola Letrari was created by Leonello Letrari and his wife Maria Vittoria in 1976, as they decided it was the time to turn into a new enterprise the experiences they made as managers of another inportant Company of the area.
The enthusiasm they spent in their creation was such that later on they were joined in the management by the daughter Lucia and the son Paolo Emilio.
Today the Letrari Vineyards consist in 23 hectares resting in a territory that goes from the south countryside of Trento to the area around the small ancient village of Borghetto all'Adige, where the letrari Family dates back since almost 1647.
The Region is a various combination of landscape, terroir and micro-climate and this was the reason why we selected several vine variety to suit at best the vocation of each one of the Letrari's Vineyards.
The careful selection of vines varieties, together with the low production pro hectare, guarantee excellence of the grapes produced here. The main part of the property is located south in the Valley where the soil is poor and rocky, and the climate is more temperate, so that vines here still co-exist alongside olive groves.
But the modern " Cantina", inaugurated in Spring 2000, was built in the green hart of Rovereto, with a stile that reminds the old rural constructions of the Valley, with ist low profile, the classical court and the flowering garden lapped by the vines.
It is open to visitors all around the year, and offers to the tourist an oasis of relax where he can taste our wines and learn the "secrets of the art".

The Vallagarina in its long history was known as the region of the finest red wines produced in the German Empire and more recently, between World War I and II, as a territory ideal for the classical Bordeaux grape varieties; but the production of wine in this area dates back to the Roman Empire.
The Letrari vineyards consist in 22 hectares of vines resting in the Borghetto all'Adige and Rovereto zone: this special region has a perfect combination of landscape, terroir and climate.
The soil is poor and rocky, the temperature is ideal in summer (partly due to the microclimate created by the local wind, the Ora del Garda): vines here still co-exist alongside olive groves.
The valley is more open here and the excellent sun exposure allows the grapes to ripen to perfection.
The careful selection of vines varieties made by Letrari, together with the low production pro hectare, guarantee the excellence of the grapes produced in these vineyards.
