Description

The vineyard "La Collina" - which is Italian for "hill" - is located in the Municipality of Brisighella. It is situated among the first hills of the eastern Apennines in the Province of Ravenna, 30 kilometres from the Adriatic Coast, and near the town of Faenza, which is primarily famous for its ceramics.

Emilia Romagna is one of Italy's most beautiful regions, characterized by a unique combination of coast, plains and hills.

The steep vineyards of "La Collina" are mainly oriented towards the South-East and the South-West. These factors guarantee high-quality viticulture. Since 2002 "La Collina" has been under Swiss ownership and management, in close collaboration with important local oenologists and agronomists such as Remigio Bordini.

"La Collina" also grows olives. Its high quality olive oil - Brisighella is actually a registered and protected trademark - has only been distributed in Italy so far and will now be available for the first time in Switzerland as well.

Our vision and objective is to produce a new class of wines and so to contribute to introducing wine lovers to Emilia Romagna, a wine producing region that is still relatively unknown. In close collaboration with our partners Remigio Bordini, one of the most outstanding agronomists in Italy (Villa Papiano vineyard, Modigliana), and Marco Montanari of the Villa Liverzano vineyard in Brisighella (the former owner of the Livernano vineyard, in Tuscany) we intend to produce various high quality classes of wine. With the common vinification of grapes from all three vineyards (Villa Papiano, Villa Liverzano and La Collina) in the cellar of "La Collina", we guarantee the provenance of our grapes and the top quality of our products, now and in the future. We supervise and control the entire production process, from the care of the single vine to the bottling of our wine.

In the next 3-4 years we're planning to accomplish the creation of our agritourism establishment. In the beautiful surroundings of "La Collina " we'll have the pleasure of offering our clients a place of tranquillity, peace and relaxation. Furthermore, we're planning to conduct various activities, such as wine and cookery seminars. Our geographical position lends itself to the practice of a variety of sports including biking, mountain biking, hiking, riding, golf and many other activities. Brisighella is only 40 minutes away from the beautiful beaches of the Adriatic Coast, far away from the big tourist resorts such as Rimini or Riccione.
