To achieve a good wine you need to take care of the land in which the grapevine is grown. Of prior importance is the exposition and adaptation of the vine The Deiana firm has the land in SU LEUNAXI in the plane of Settimo S.Pietro, and they cultivate the Vermentino, Monica and Cannonau grapes, using the best charateristic properties of the land . At the top of the hill, the earth is sandy, pebbly with limestone parts, perfect for the Vermentino grape. The Monica grape is cultivated in limestone and pebbly earth, while the Cannonau grape is grown on limestone only.
The exposure is mainly to the North-East, and thanks to the Minstral wind and to the sun present almost all year round, the grapes grow and mature in perfect ambient conditions. For the production of wines I.G.T., Ajana, Pluminus and Oirad we use grapes grown on limestone.
The Winery Ferruccio Deiana is located in Settimo S. Pietro, in Su Leunaxi, a hill-side for centuries devoted to the growth of grapevines. It is in harmony with the surrondings. Its architetural style is inspired by the old "campidanesi" farmhouses , modelled by the man to integrate with the gentily undulating landscape. The modern touch allows us to mix the old vine growth traditions with the modern technology.
On the ground floor you can find the most evolved and sofisticated plant for wine-making, conservation and purification, a modern and functional lab for chemical tests, a comfortable reception and the administration area. In the basement, you can find the "barriques" in french oak used for the fermentation and maturation in wood of the wines Chardonnay, Cannonau and Carignano. This area is one of the more interesting and fascinating area of the winery.

The winery is surronded by 30 hectars of local vines of Vermentino, Nasco, Malvasia, Moscato, Cannonau, Monica, Carignano, and non-local vines such as Chardonnay, Cabernet,Syrah and Merlot. It's sited in poetic landscape, craddled by olive trees positioned all around it which become particularly beautiful in the summer, when the green and the gold of the fields clashes with the silver of the olive trees.
