The history of Castelcerino, always, identifies itself with the one of Soave.
We, at Castelcerino, produce quality wine, through the re-interpretation in modern ways, the great tradition of the soave, in order to satisfy the palate taste of wine passionates and authentic experts .
Our is a new mark with antique roots, because antique are the genealogy branches which goes back to the 1300 century and interlaces with the tuscan family of Counts Alberti, who moved (established) to Castelcerino after the defeat of the Ezzelini. At the beginning of 1900 the Visco Family becomes the owner of the villa and of the plantation-terrain of Count Alberti (cousins of the Filippi) to officially initiate the activity of wine-making.
In the magic of Castelcerino the history of two families is united: The Visco Family with lengthy wine-making tradition and the far-sightedness of the Filippis'. This union develops the absolute passion for wine-making that it becomes richer iin competence, creativeness and innovation research as time goes by. Today's wines are the same ones' of the 60's, We are recouping the old vine plants (biotipi autoctoni) of the area, such as Garganega anda Trebbiano of Soave and with those we have created new vine-yards.
To visit the Filippis' farm-plantation, it's equivalent to entering in a oasis of green where time has stopped. The uncontaminated nature harmony enclosed by bushes spectacle which embraces the vineyards is the ideal scenery. This is where the recent reconstructed agriturismo is risen. Only here you can live the magic of a unique territory/land which gives birth to a wine famous in the world.
The vulcanic nature of the basaltic rock along with the calcareous ones' which gave origin to the terrain assures sapidity and particular salinity. The 320 to 400 meters above sea level altitude and the presence of the bush creates an ideal microclimate, always ventilated (winnowed) and characterized with a excursion, all this is accompanied by the persistence of perfumes and wine aroma.
Conforming to the exposure and climate characteristics, the various pieces of land hosts selected vine-plants for the production of various wines for that specific area: Soave, Soave Superiore D.O.C.G., Recioto di Soave D.O.C.G.
In the Valpolicella area we have begun a limited production of amoarone, derived-produced from accurate selective grapes. The philosophy which guides the activity is simple and coherent: everything happens in conformity to nature, without intensive straining and overworking of the terrain, everything in performed in the respect of the law and discipline with a ut-most attention to quality.
The wine cellar (rises) is derived from the old (lodgings) rooms adjacent to the villa and the building destined to the activity of agrituristica (agricolture tourism): a captivating (prestigeous) context, recently restored, where we installed modern wine-making plants that assures a high quality product.
In the old wine-cellars of the villa, between rock walls, is the ideal place for the small oak wood barrels dedicated to the refining of "important" wines such as Soave Superior D.O.C.G. from the hills Castelcerino, The Soave Recioto D.O.C.G. and Amarone D.O.C of Valpolicella.
