Athesia Vini was established in 2004 to promote and sell in Italy and worldwide the excellent wines of Trentino and of Sicily, such as the wines of the Cantina Viticoltori in Avio, of the Cantina di Nomi and of its joint venture in Camporeale Fattorie Azzolino.
The headquarters of the company Athesia Vini is in Avio, Vallagarina, an area that has been dedicated to vine growing for thousands of years. As far back as the 1st century A.D., Pliny the Elder spoke of this land and of its wines, and in particular described the ENANTIO as "Labrusca: hoc est vitis silvestris, quod vocatur oenanthium", that is still being produced today mostly from vigorous century-old vines.
From history to music: in his Don Juan, Mozart exalts the virtues of MARZEMINO, the red grape variety that is native to this area.
Athesia Vini has accepted the challenge posed by globalization with a view to assuring its clientele large numbers, top quality and ample choice.
Joining forces for optimizing ideas: this is the secret behind Athesia Vini.
Cantina di Nomi and Cantina Viticoltori in Avio, two stars in the firmament of Trentino cooperatives, have exalted the cooperative spirit that over time has made the success of Trentino industries. In Athesia Vini, Avio and Nomi have joined forces to create quality. Their ties with their history-rich land, Trentino and Vallagarina, are very strong.
The Athesia Vini group also includes a Sicilian estate, Fattorie Azzolino, property of Cantina di Nomi. This company is located in the upper Belice area, south of Palermo, and on its 40 hectares of vineyards produces the grape varieties typical of the area: Nero D'Avola, Grillo, Inzolia, Syrah, Chardonnay.
With such an historically solid base, today Athesia Vini comprises over 630 partners operating on a surface area of over 800 hectares of vineyards. Our "Quality Plan" starts in the vineyard: expert Agronomists in the country and dedicated Enologists in the cellars strive to obtain excellence from the grapes donated by our vines.
Our soil makes this easier for them: it is harsh and rocky, the natural habitat for great whites such as Pinot Grigio, Pinot Bianco, Müller Thurgau, Chardonnay, Traminer Aromatico, and the wide swings in temperature between night and day allow to develop their unique aromas and fragrances.
Our clientele's satisfaction in terms of quality, numbers and variety remains the top objective of Athesia Vini.
