Urceni Nuraghe (Osini)

The Urceni structure, majestically dominating the entire surroundings, is a classic example of a mountain nuraghe. Built with large, rather regularly shaped limestone blocks, this monument bears witness to the harmonious integration of nature and architecture typical of nuraghic art. The composition of the complex is extremely interesting: a massive enclosure wall that extends for 80 metres and has a residual height of 5 m, incorporates the main tower and seven rooms, including "Room F", which is important because of its unusual architectural features: the small windows, the seat, the hearth and the other elements have led archaeologists to attach civil, communal and religious value to the room, rather than regarding it merely as a lodging.
