The picturesque and suggestive scenery of the Rocky Chapel, dedicated to the Archangel St. Michael and dated back to the XIII century, framed the event "In Cibo Veritas - Sapori di terre salernitane", organized by Neirana Communication, that took place on Thursday, July 24th 2008 in Gete, hamlet of the town of Tramonti.
The leitmotiv of this event was the harmony between the beauty and the taste of the oeno-gastronomic specialties of the Amalfi coast and the "Prima Donna" prize focused the attention on the attractiveness of a label. In short how an image translates itself into a well-designed, made and communicated message.
The Evaluation Commission, chaired by prof. Menichelli (member of the Italian Association of Wine Label Collectors - AICEV) and composed by local press and oeno-gastronomic communication professionals, after having examined the labels of the wineries and limoncello factories of the Amalfi coast, awarded:
- Furore Riserva 2004 by Cantine Marisa Cuomo from Furore (Gran Premio Prima Donna, Vino e Territorio - Idea Originaria);
- Fiorduva 2005 by Cantine Marisa Cuomo from Furore (Gran Menzione Prima Donna, Vino e Territorio - Idea Originale);
- Paesaggi, liquore al limone amalfitano sfusato by Salvatore De Riso (Gran Premio Prima Donna, Limoncello Amalfitano - L'Origine in Immagine);
- Paesaggi, liquore al limone amalfitano sfusato by Salvatore De Riso (Gran Menzione Prima Donna, Limoncello Amalfitano - Idea Originale).
Soon after the award ceremony, the Osteria Reale host a tasting dinner based on local typical products, including the labels of wine and limoncello which have participated at the competition. We had an appetizer of "Fantasie Casearie di Tramonti", composed by delicious fresh dairy products and salami from Tramonti, a delicate first course of "ricci di Minori" (a typical handmade pasta from Minori) with ricotta cheese and courgette flowers, an excellent second course composed by a puff pastry stuffed with local anchovies and mozzarella cheese and, finally, a new version of the "ricotta e pere" (ricotta cheese and pear) cake, prepared by the famous local confectioner Salvatore De Riso.
The beauty and the taste of the Amalfi coast!
