On the Taccu di Osini plateau, at an altitude of almost 1,000 metres, is the Serbissi nuraghic complex, which dates to the seventeenth century BC. It boasts a splendid example of a trilobate nuraghe, consisting of four towers incorporated into a massive rampart, and a village with eight dwellings.
Standing out from the rest of the complex is the still intact tholos, which was built in a central and dominating position and has a maximum residual height of 6.30 metres.
The site is unique due to the presence in the area below it of a natural cave that may have been used to preserve foodstuffs.
The excavation campaigns carried out after 1994 brought to light monuments that can now be seen in all their splendour, stateliness and importance. Among these are the nearby single-tower nuraghi of Sanu and Orruttu, and the Urceni nuraghe.
