Let's enjoy the perfection of the round shape and the white flesh, the crispness and freshness...

Welcome to the Giffoni hazelnut IGP territory. We invite you to explore this landscape in every season: hazel woods rich in fruits during the summer, swaying catkins and bare hazel shrubs in the winter. During the harvest period, the scent of hazelnuts displayed in the sun characterizes the streets of the villages of Giffoni Sei Casali; the delicious aroma of the first crispy caramel of the year comes from the kitchens' windows.
the protected geographical indication "Giffoni hazelnut" refers to one of the most finest Italian variety: the "Tonda di Giffoni". The distinctive features of the Giffoni hazelnut IGP are: the peeled fruit is perfectly round shaped, the flesh is white and firm, aromatic flavor that recalls the scents of caramel and bread crust. The Giffoni hazelnut is particularly suitable for both direct consumption and raw material in the manufacture of high quality confectionery. In the area of production it is usually used in the preparation of meat dishes and first ones.
Fruit picking usually begins in August; soon after the hazelnuts are dried in the sun and finally stored in a cool, ventilated, free of odors and moisture place. The consumption of the Giffoni hazelnut IGP protects against cardiovascular disease and arteriosclerosis, severely limiting the level of cholesterol in the bloomstream.

The area of production of the Giffoni hazelnut IGP is focused in the Salerno area, especially Picentini Mounts and Irno Valley, where are located the 12 municipalities involved: Acerno, Baronissi, Calvanico, Castiglione del Genovesi, Fisciano, Giffoni Sei Casali, Giffoni Valle Piana, Montecorvino Pugliano, Montecorvino Rovella, Olevano sul Tusciano, S. Cipriano Picentino, S. Mango Piemonte.

Come here and enjoy with us a delicious hazelnut coffee.
