Monno

Description

Monno, a small town which lies at 1066 meters above sea level, has 589 inhabitants.
The district of Monno was founded in ancient times. In the past, this small town was a famous shelter for merchants and travelers and the monks of Cluny, built here the Church of San Brizio, the oldest in the town, which was rebuilt in 1480 and renovated in 1657.
In the nearby it s possible to admire the church of Saints Peter and Paul and the Church of Saints Sebastian and Fabiano.
The town stands in a wonderful location and offers memorable views over the slopes of the nearby mountains with its farm houses, paths, manicured lawns and proposes stories related to episodes of local legends, enhanced between the traditions and folklore.
The changing of the seasons offer an ever-changing landscape which offer a variety of colors that become particularly intense in the fall.
In the Summer, the mountain takes life and sounds including those of the bells of the cows to pasture, fill the air. A great place for trekking, mountain bike and horseback excursions.
